AVAAS NOMINATES STUDENTS TO POSSE FOUNDATION
$140,000 Scholarship Opportunity/Posse Foundation
for Rising 12th grade students

FOR THE 2011 - 2012 SCHOOL YEAR, through our collaborative efforts with Minority Educational Task Force,  Lyle Jackson nominated 45 rising seniors who are competing for an opportunity to be selected to receive a $140,000.00 scholarship, regardless of parental income to nine select top colleges outside of the Los Angeles area.  

Lyle has nominated the most African American students in the Los Angeles area who have received this scholarship. Eight previous nominees from the past three years have been awarded this scholarship and are currently attending one of the Posse selected colleges.  

This year the universities are Bucknell University ,  Dickinson College, Grinnell College , Kalamazoo College ,  Tulane University , UC Berkeley ,  UCLA , University of Wisconsin, Madison. (click on each college you will be directed to their website)

Lyle request  that all students view the POSSE FOUNDATION website at www.possefoundation.org  and any of the seven specific college websites to see whether or not there is an interest in attending any of the aforementioned colleges/universities.
